Program your PLCs remotely
in under 5 minutes

Reach your PLCs from anywhere as if you were standing in front of the cabinet — open TIA Portal, GX Works, EcoStruxure, Studio 5000, or your usual tool and work online. The same secure tunnel also connects you to SCADA and HMI systems, and to any industrial device that speaks TCP/IP. No public IPs, no firewall headaches, no servers to run yourself.

How it works

From router to PLC in 5 steps

No prior VPN knowledge required. The portal handles the entire network configuration for you.

1

Install router on site

Plug in a supported industrial router next to your PLC. Power on and connect to internet.

2

Log into the portal

Create a peer entry for the new router in your Remotiva dashboard.

3

Download configuration

Get a ready-to-use config file (or scan a QR code) for the router and your laptop.

4

Start the connection

Import the config on the router and on your laptop. Connection comes up in seconds.

5

Program your PLC

Open TIA Portal, GX Works, or your usual tool. Work as if you were on site.

Fully managed

We run the infrastructure. You focus on your work.

Running your own remote-access server means renting a server, installing the software, keeping it patched, managing certificates, configuring firewalls, taking backups, and being on call when something breaks. Remotiva takes all of that off your plate.

  • Renting and paying for a server
  • Installing and patching server software
  • Renewing TLS certificates
  • Firewall and NAT configuration
  • Backups and disaster recovery
  • Being on call when the server breaks

All of the above is included.

Compatibility

Works with the equipment you already use

Remotiva is protocol-agnostic. If your engineering tool can reach the PLC on a local network, it can reach it through Remotiva.

PLC systems

  • Siemens S7-1200/1500
  • Schneider Modicon
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix
  • Mitsubishi MELSEC
  • Omron PLC
  • Delta PLC

  • Teltonika RUT / RUTX series
  • MikroTik
  • GL.iNet
  • OpenWrt devices

Security

Built for industrial environments

Industrial systems are sensitive. Security is not an add-on — it’s the foundation.

🔐

WireGuard encryption

Modern, audited cryptography (ChaCha20, Poly1305, Curve25519). Smaller code surface than legacy VPN protocols.

🏢

Per-customer isolation

Each customer has a dedicated network and subnet. No routing between tenants — ever.

🔑

HTTPS-only portal

Web portal protected by HTTPS with automatic certificate renewal. Session cookies are secure and HttpOnly.

💾

Automatic backups

Configuration and account data backed up daily. Disaster recovery is our problem, not yours.

📋

Audit log

Every action (login, peer added, config downloaded) is logged for accountability and incident response.

👤

Role-based access

Admins manage; regular users see only their own networks. Granular control over who can do what.

Beyond programming

One tunnel for SCADA, HMI, and the whole line

Remote access isn’t only about pushing a program change. Once the site is connected, the same secure link reaches your SCADA server, HMI panels, and any device on the local network that speaks TCP/IP.

Open a SCADA client from the office, pull live process data, check an HMI, or reach a managed switch — without opening a single port to the internet. The connection behaves like a flat local network, so the tools you already use just work.

  • SCADA clients and historians
  • HMI panels and web visualisations
  • Modbus TCP, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Profinet
  • Managed switches, IPC, gateways
  • Cameras and any HTTP / HTTPS / SSH device
  • No port forwarding, no public IP needed

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to understand WireGuard or VPN to use this?
No. The portal generates everything for you — ready-to-import config files and QR codes. You don’t need to edit conf files, write firewall rules, or know what a public key is. If you can install a WireGuard client and import a file, you’re done.
Will it work with my Siemens / Schneider / Mitsubishi PLC?
Yes. Remotiva is protocol-agnostic. Any tool that can reach your PLC over a local network (TIA Portal, GX Works, EcoStruxure, etc.) will work over Remotiva as if you were on site.
What does the beta include?
Full access to remote PLC connectivity: managed hosting, automatic configs, QR codes, and updates. During the beta there’s no card required.
Is industrial traffic actually safe over the public internet?
All traffic is end-to-end encrypted using modern WireGuard cryptography. Each customer is fully isolated — there is no routing between different customers’ networks. Private keys never leave the devices after initial setup, and connections are additionally protected by a pre-shared key.
What hardware do I need on site?
Any router that supports WireGuard. We’ve tested Teltonika RUT200/RUT241, MikroTik, GL.iNet, and OpenWrt-based routers. The Teltonika RUT series is the easiest path for new users.
Can I leave anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts. You can export your data and walk away at any time.
How is this different from running my own WireGuard server?
Functionally similar, but you don’t maintain anything. No VPS rent, no patching, no certificate renewals, no firewall debugging at 2am. You also get the portal: multi-tenant isolation, automatic configs, audit log, monitoring. For a single engineer it’s convenience; for a service company managing many client sites it’s essential.
